Chemian wins Export Team of the Year Award

Chemian has been crowned Export Team of the Year in the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards and was Highly Commended in the Exporter of the Year award.

First launched in 2016, the Northern Powerhouse awards celebrate the achievements of the region’s top exporters while championing and supporting others to start or continue their export activities. The 2022 event attracted more than 200 entries with 44 making the shortlist. The awards are held in association with the Department for Business and Trade.

Accepting the award on behalf of his team, Ian Dell said: “I’m delighted, especially because it’s a team award. A small business like ours relies on every member of the team to support each other, not only pulling their own weight, but helping in other roles on occasion too.”

He added that with business booming, particularly on the export side, Chemian had been expanding its team in anticipation of continued rapid growth. He finished with words of encouragement to companies starting their export journeys: “Exporting isn’t hard, it’s just doing business with people who are further away.”

The company was Highly Commended as the Northern Powerhouse Exporter of the Year, which is the overall award for category winners who have made an outstanding contribution to the North’s export profile and success.
